Star Wars Episode VI Return of the Jedi - Review

Overall, I would say that Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi directed by Richard Marquand is an action-packed movie that keeps the audience on the edge of their seat.  I must say that my favorite part of the movie was the soundtrack.  The title song is a catchy, recognizable tune that has become familiar with so may people.  Depending on the scene of the movie, the music changes from exciting and upbeat to mysterious and suspenseful.  The music really sets the mood for the scene.  Also, for the year that this movie was released, the special effects are great.  Each creature was unique and different, the robots and technological gadgets were well designed, and the fight scenes including the futuristic weapons were thrilling and exciting.  I really liked how there were so many different creatures; my personal favorites are the ewoks!!  Anyway, this movie is perfect for anyone who wants a suspenseful plot with many twists and turns, interesting settings, strange creatures and robots, and great soundtrack music.

  1. Hey! Here to post my evaluation from Class! :)
Purpose: I say it needs more of an overall focus. I feel your purpose was to state your enjoyment of the film. I like how you address the music and character quality of the film. Those are good evaluation aspects.

Readers: I did find the blog interesting. It was short and to the point, but you also looked at certain parts of the movie that I didn't think to look at. I like also that you have an unbiased opinion having never saw any of the movies before. I feel you have a good amount of criteria to judge to the movie, I feel it just needs more specific evidence to improve your evaluation.

Support: I don't feel there is enough support, but I do like the potential for support that is there. I feel perhaps discussing specific scenes or parts that drew you attention (both good and bad) will be an improvement.

Context: I think a little more background information about the story is necessary. I do feel that your judgments are fair and unbiased, especially since we discussed in class that you didn't think you were going to enjoy the movie beforehand, and now you do. I think now you know that you can go at this from different perspectives and from your own point of view too. The Blog setup is also very cool and easy to use!
